Valentines Day creative ideas

So here it is, you have been waiting for the entire years and finally the day has come. What the world believes to be the most romantic day of the year often turns out to portray men as complete idiots, robotics and at times utterly selfish human beings. However, psychology says it just because of human instinct. By default, men are born with a tiny minuscule of love and care in their brains in comparison to a large lump when analyzed to a woman’s’.
Changing times and increasing number of education women lead to more expectations and sadly to a higher number of failures. The woman of today, the woman of the modern world is in complete contrast to the women of the rural areas. Therefore, you need to gear up things if you want to make her smile and make her day. Here are some of the ideas that have certainly worked for me and for the people I am with.

• Never forget the power of flowers. After all, it the main symbol of Valentines Day. There has to be a reason why all the flower sellers double the prices on this particular day. Get her a nice bouquet of flowers. Make it a nice bunch of colorful flowers. At times, even one rose would do the job. However, make sure she is not allergic to it because men can always tend to make matters worse!
• Shop with her a few days earlier and keep an eye on her. Keep looking at her to analyze what she likes in the shopping malls and in the cafes u normally visit. Getting her the same gift which she couldn’t buy earlier could bring a big smile on her face.

• Show your creativity. Getting a card from the card outlet or hallmark is easy. Instead, try making one yourself. It may not be the best of the cards, but the sheer effort you put in always makes the day for a woman. Just show how much you care for her.

• Gift her favorite perfume because it’s always nice to have a nice fragrance in your wardrobe and trust me, women love it.

• Take her to dinner and make it special. Dress nicely and tell her things that you have not told her before. Confessions, truths, your past and a nice talk about your future. This will help her feel secure and confident in the love you two share.

Conflicts with religious fundamentalists around the world

The celebration of Valentines Day does not come without its share of quandaries and predicaments. Over the years, there have been a growing number of protests and campaigns to stop the celebration of this day. However, this has had little impact on the youth which has been adamant each year to celebrate it amongst the protests.

Valentines is not only disliked in Islam. Hinduism also does not prohibit the celebration of this day. Shiv Sena is a very popular Hindu nationalist party prevalent in India.
Bal Thaackeray, 84 years old, has been in the news lately for his enraging remarks pointed towards Indian movie celebraity, Shahrukh Khan, and the recent remarks on the Shoaib Malik and Sania mirza affair. However, that debate is not in context of this article. Shiv Sena, along with other parties, namely the bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu, have been violently opposing this cultural tradition which has crept into our society from the West. In India last year, warnings and signals were sent out to the youth and adults alike a day before the occasion not to celebrate it. Hindu nationalist did put up a campaign being hidden in parks and public places to lash out on suspected lovers and disgrace them publicly. In fact, in parts of northern Indian state, many couples were forced to get married there and then.

In Pakistan, Jamaat Islami has been continually volunteering and raising their voice to ban the celebration of Valentines Day. However, it has gone in vain. Each year, an increasing number of youth is celebrating this day. This has also opened gates for increased revenues for florists who tend to rake in huge profits on this very day.

In the year 2002 and 2008, Saudi Arabia also took a few initiatives to eradicate what they believe is a social quandary. The country has a particular police termed as religious police and actually went to each store and outlet to remove the flowers and any items in red color. However, this ban did encourage a black market of roses and other gifts items but again, this is out of context of the argument.

Sadly, despite of the efforts put in by several governments, there has been little change in the festival celebration which has now its branches far spread into the middle eat and South Asia alike.

Valentines Day and Islam

Rather than being geared towards modernization, our country is well on its course towards westernization. One aspect of western tradition now being followed by the youth and adults alike of today is the celebration of Valentines Day. The origin, the purpose and the culture associated behind Valentines Day is not known by these youth, yet on every fourteenth of February, this day is celebrated with vigor and excitement. It is a sad depiction how Muslims are following the myths and traditions laid down originally by the Christians.

The scenario has worsened with the introduction of mass communication via mobile texts and emails. Greetings of Valentines Day are spread across the country via mass media as well. It is all an era of globalization where the Western country is taking complete control of the mass media, mass communication and cultural values.
It saddens me. As Lahore was shook heavily via twin blasts in R.A bazaar, the youth of today was gearing up to celebrate the day they term as the Valentines day. A social nuisance originated from the West, it has its branches well spread among us by now.
In the light of Islam, celebrating happy occasions is not forbidden. Islam does not forbid any occasion that could bring people closer to each other. However, Valentines Day and the concept behind it is a completely different thing. It a concept originated from the Western nations. Muslims should not by any means imitate a concept that comes glorifying the Western values. There is not one Surah or Hadith that backs up the celebration of Valentines Day. Further, for a Muslim, each day of the year is supposed to be equal and each day means loving fellow Muslims. Narrowing it down to just one day just does not do it justice. Hence, we Muslims ought not to follow in the footsteps of such innovations and superstitions that are common in what is known as the Valentine’s Day. No doubt that there are many irreligious practices that occur on that day and those practices are capable of dissuading people from the true meanings of love and altruism to the extent that the celebration is reduced to a moral decline.
To add on to the injury, it has become a custom and traditions to throw parties and concerts on Valentines Day. Liquor drinking, late night dance parties is not a thing unknown to the Muslims of today. It is sad how the youth of today is on its way following the un-Islamic cultural values of the Western nations.

Discrimination happens on Valentines Day

Valentines Day is only for rich people and it’s a clear discrimination because all the products which are prominent are for rich people on Valentines Day lovers exchange their feelings by exchanging the gifts like chocolates flowers and expensive gifts. Proper function organized for valentines day and in that function interior designer designs the interior plus food section is really strong in the parties and all the poor of the world can not afford these sort of gifts and parties so this kind of day should be eliminated it is only good for businesses but it is not good for the consumers.
Poor people also love their lovers but on the Valentines Day when heavy ceremonies takes a part all the poor people feels bad and embraced because they don’t have anything to give their lover.
It is clearly discrimination I don’t know it’s right or not but from my point of view the Valentines Day should be vanished.
Many people think that activities like valentines day should happen because these sort of things can spread colors in this world but from my point of view just calculate how much money is spend on the valentines day that would tell the difference and this money is not an investment it is just nothing its just a waste of money so these sort of things should not happen in this world

Chocolate manufacturers extracting advantage from Valentine’s Day

From my point of view all the chocolate industries focuses the valentines day to extract maximum sales they increases the supply of the chocolate and heavy promotion is done to make the latest chocolates product visible.
As all the chocolate companies know that chocolate is a very strong product for the Valentines Day. Chocolate is as much a part of Valentine’s Day as roses and hearts. It has always been linked with that important day of romance. It comes from the common belief that chocolate is an important thing for the Valentines Day. The delectable taste and the charming packaging call up feelings of sensuality and love. Women and some men have been the recipients of chocolate for Valentine’s Day for generations. They are the next best thing to flowers and for those that really want to make a double impression, you can give chocolates and flowers
All the chocolate companies focuses on to create world finest tastiest chocolate and many companies have launched a chocolate named world finest chocolate and it has been in a business for fifty years and their diverse selection of chocolate gifts for Valentine’s Day.
Valentines Day is good for businesses especially for chocolates and flowers business because every one can afford both flowers and chocolates.

Wastage of money on valentine's day

What we think is the most important in our life. the money, love, authority, peace, family or friends. we can not say that love is most important but we can not live without love. love is the most important aspect of our life and love without expression is nothing although love itself is expression. so we have to express love to our lovers as much as we can but the question is "Is this proper way to allocate one day for expressing love or affection". According to some people it is right but according to me it is not a right practise. The celebration of valentine's day leads to bad practices in society and such practices are strongly forbitted in islam. Another dark side of celebrating this event is the aspect of wastage of money. expensive gifts are echanged on that day but this is not the proper way of showing love to someone.
Chocolate, flowers, hearts and love, are all good on their own. Each individual thing is good.but when stuffed into one day, it doesn't really have as much meaning.
I think its very commercialised now alot like christmas and even halloween - I think its less about how much you love someone and more about how much you spend like the more you spend equals the more you love someone which is just not true. Its much more romantic to have someone do something special for you like run you a hot bath with candles and rose pettals after a hard days as the beatles said 'money cant buy me love so it transforms into rich people's event.
we should not wait for 14th february to express love if we love someone we can celebrate it everyday. multinationals companies also stimulate the people to celebrate this event because their motive is to increase their profits and they try to increase the sale of their products. the chocolate, perfumes, stufftoys and card manufacturers are basically the beneficars of this event.
This year on valentines day why not do something different and spend some money on a meaningful cause one of the many charities doing great work worldwide. The money can go to all sorts of good use and make a long term difference long after the standard valentines day flowers and chocolates are gone and forgotten and both you and your partner can feel good in knowing that you have helped the good cause of your choice.

valentines day in islamic history;

NO doubt, we are living in the era of mordernization,OFCOURSE its 21st centuary, basically as few of us knows the origination of valentines day BUT no body knows what does it really means? from where it came? to whom we are giving tribute ? all what we know is romance in numerous ways. TOday our young generation of muslims and our all nation has deeply got involved with out being aware of reality , they use to celeberate it so excitedly and passionately that its really tough to imagine that ARE WE REALLY MUSLIMS? BUT WHY??? its happening? why are we imitating the others. as 14th feb, approaches many of us gets ready and make ourselves prepare to express our feelings and emotions we waste our time and money in purchasing of ridiculous things and useless too such as HEART SHAPE CARDS, RED BALLOONS, ROSES, CANDIES and so on..... EVEN FOR A second , why dont we think and consider about its significances?? that why have we become dependant on just ONE day ? its a big question!.
Have we forgot the sunnahs ? our holy prophet (p.b.u.h) use to celebrate just 2 eids and his companions followed him then why are we not doing the same ? young boys and girls use to wait for valentines day and to express their feelings to beloved ones. islam is a complete code of life, a perfect and absolute religion. islam needs no such inventions and innovations or man_made legislations. why do we need just one day to make ourself clear. love is not bound it is beyond the limitations. if we love some one we should express our love and our self any time we dont have to wait for such artificial day cause, every minute, every second , every moment is made for love and respect, if we truly loves some one than we should love it by heart, nowadays it has become a trend to celebrate it by wasting alots of money by doing like this what do the people tries to prove? being muslim we should eliminate this day from our life as in our religion is already made of love, purity, humbleness, and respect. so, we dont need such kind of USELESS, MAN CREATED, TREACHEROUS AND IMMORAL DAY! and thats none other than VALENTINES DAY.

Valentine's day A mockery of business firm.

Some say saint valentine was a preist who was promoting chritian marriages
somed say that he was helping the christian prisoner escape while some of the people say that saint valentine did not even exist in the history
we dont know the actual back ground of the valentines day but we do know that it is celeberates in the memory of saint valentine and the actual reason of celeberating is to promote love
but in my openion valentine day is a mockery from different businesses as 85 percent of the population of pakistan doesnt know the actual background of valentines day yet they still celeberates.
As soon as the month feb begins different companies starts advertisng promoting and launching new produsts only for valentines day for exampl in Pakistan such as different mobile companies starts launching new offers for valentines day like ufone which is one of the leading company of Pakistan they offered different ring tones themes, wallpapers of valentines day special and companies advertise their service and product heavily.
In th same way differnt Card companies like The wishes and The hallmark etc introduce new love cards for valentines day with different kinds of love poetries and famous love coutations.
Star product
1-chocolates
2-perfumes
3-stuff toys
4-flowers
5-cards
People spend lots of money on these star products on 14 feb and they dont even know the history of valentines day and media keeping the thing in mind that 85 percent of the population of Pakistan doesnt know the history.
however there is no such thing as a star product this is concept that has been pushed into the minds of the cnsumers for the mutual benifits of different companies so that more and more product will be sold and the will be able to achieve a great number of customers.
thts why every year differnt companies come together in order toi gain mutual benifit by persuating the people to differnet packages and advertisement to cleberates this day.
but i still believe that we should not wait for the whole year to express our feelings for our love ones.
Love can not be confined to a specific day we have a right to show our loved ones how much we care for them any time at any moment instead of being a fool and waiting for a whole year to express our feelings.

VALENTIN'S DAY

For centuries, people have celebrated Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is the popular celebration of love and romances traces its origin to ancient Roman festival and has not been created by card companies as some people believe it to be. There are different belief associted with the valentine's day. there is a belief that birds began to mate from this day.

Romantic festival of St Valentine's Day is celebrated with enthusiasm in several countries around the world and also in pakistan. Most commonly observed Valentine's Day tradition and custom is expressing one's love with an exchange of cards, flowers and gifts. Pampering one's beloved and making a romantic proposal to one's sweetheart is the other popular tradition of the festival that celebrates love. There are different views of the people about the valentin's day according to some this is good activity because there is nothing wrong by showing your emotions to someone but the other point of view is different according to them the gifting made on valentine's day is only the wastage of money and time and also our religion do not give us permission to indulge in such activities.

One of the most popular tradition of Valentine's Day observed worldwide is to go on a date with their beloved one. Some years back that day is only associated with the romantic couples but today the valentine's day is seen in broader prespective. but now the the people not only wish to their lovers but also to their parents, teachers and friends which is a nice move.the basic idea behind this festival is to express love.

People eagerly wait for this day. A lot of preparation is done before the day comes so that they can express their love and emotions to those who give meanings to their lives. There developed a different methods of wishing valentin's day but the most popular is the valentin's card. There is the second largest card selling recorded on this event after the chrismis.

The most commen practise done on this day is the exchange of cards. In the 18th century people used to give hand written cards but by the starting of 19th century the printed cards make it easier to wish valentine's day through printed cards. Today the thoughts about valentine's day changed much now we also wish greetings to mother, father, brother, sisters or friends. large number of gifts are also exchanged on this day. the most popular gifts exchanged on this day are fresh flowers , choclates and teddy bears. The most multinational companies launch different choklates and candies before this day due to increase demand and earn profits.

the most importnt tradition of this day is to have a candle light dinner with one's valentine. There is also the arrangement of dance parties on that day by various clubs and societies. In a nutshell i want to say that there is both a dark and bright side of celebrating this day. The dark side is that a lot of money is wasted on valentine's day, that money can be spend on the welfare of society and our religion also do not allow us to indulge in such activites and by celebrating this day creates a bad impact on society. But the nice thing about is that it increases love in our society and if we stay in our limits there is no harm of celebrating such events or festivals.

VALENTINES DAY IN THE LIGHT OF ISLAM

Saint Valentine is a name which is given to two of the ancient “martyrs” of the Christian Church. It was said that there were two of them, or that there was only one, who died in Rome as the result of the persecution of the Gothic leader Claudius, c. 296 CE. In 350 CE, a church was built in Rome on the site of the place where he died, to perpetuate his memory.

When the Romans embraced Christianity, they continued to celebrate the Feast of Love mentioned above, but they changed it from the pagan concept of “spiritual love” to another concept known as the “martyrs of love”, represented by Saint Valentine who had advocated love and peace, for which cause he was martyred, according to their claims. It was also called the Feast of Lovers, and Saint Valentine was considered to be the patron saint of lovers.

One of their false beliefs connected with this festival was that the names of girls who had reached marriageable age would be written on small rolls of paper and placed in a dish on a table. Then the young men who wanted to get married would be called, and each of them would pick a piece of paper. He would put himself at the service of the girl whose name he had drawn for one year, so that they could find out about one another. Then they would get married, or they would repeat the same process again on the day of the festival in the following year.

The Christian clergy reacted against this tradition, which they considered to have a corrupting influence on the morals of young men and women. It was abolished in Italy, where it had been well-known, then it was revived in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when in some western countries there appeared shops which sold small books called “Valentine’s books”, which contained love poems, from which the one who wanted to send a greeting to his sweetheart could choose. They also contained suggestions for writing love letters.

As regards the Islamic stance on this festival, Dr. Su`ad Ibrahim Salih, professor of Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) at Al-Azhar University, states the following:

Indeed, Islam is the religion of altruism, true love, and cooperation on that which is good and righteous. We implore ALLAH Almighty to gather us together under the umbrella of His All-encompassing Mercy, and to unite us together as one man. ALLAH Almighty says: (The believers are naught else than brothers. Therefore make peace between your brethren and observe your duty to ALLAH that haply ye may obtain mercy.) (Al-Hujurat 49: 10)

Focusing more on the question in point, I can say that there are forms of expressing love that are religiously acceptable, while there are others that are not religiously acceptable. Among the forms of love that are religiously acceptable are those that include the love for Prophets and Messengers. It stands to reason that the love for ALLAH, and His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) should have the top priority over all other forms of love.

Islam does recognize happy occasions that bring people closer to one another, and add spice to their lives. However, Islam goes against blindly imitating the West regarding a special occasion such as Valentine’s Day. Hence, commemorating that special day known as the Valentine’s Day is an innovation or bid`ah that has no religious backing. Every innovation of that kind is rejected, as far as Islam is concerned. Islam requires all Muslims to love one another all over the whole year, and reducing the whole year to a single day is totally rejected.

Hence, we Muslims ought not to follow in the footsteps of such innovations and superstitions that are common in what is known as the Valentine’s Day. No doubt that there are many irreligious practices that occur on that day, and those practices are capable of dissuading people from the true meanings of love and altruism to the extent that the celebration is reduced to a moral decline.

Additionally, it is forbidden for a Muslim to assist or help in this Valentine's Day, or any other of the forbidden/illegal celebrations in any way whatsoever - whether by food or drink, selling or buying, production, gift-giving, correspondence, announcements, etc. All of these things are considered as co-operating in sin and transgression and disobedience of Allah and His Messenger. Allah, the Glorious and Most High, says:

"and co-operate with one another in righteousness and piety, and do not co-operate in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah! Verily Allaah is severe in punishment," [Soorah al-Maa.idah, Aayah 2]
