Wastage of money on valentine's day

What we think is the most important in our life. the money, love, authority, peace, family or friends. we can not say that love is most important but we can not live without love. love is the most important aspect of our life and love without expression is nothing although love itself is expression. so we have to express love to our lovers as much as we can but the question is "Is this proper way to allocate one day for expressing love or affection". According to some people it is right but according to me it is not a right practise. The celebration of valentine's day leads to bad practices in society and such practices are strongly forbitted in islam. Another dark side of celebrating this event is the aspect of wastage of money. expensive gifts are echanged on that day but this is not the proper way of showing love to someone.
Chocolate, flowers, hearts and love, are all good on their own. Each individual thing is good.but when stuffed into one day, it doesn't really have as much meaning.
I think its very commercialised now alot like christmas and even halloween - I think its less about how much you love someone and more about how much you spend like the more you spend equals the more you love someone which is just not true. Its much more romantic to have someone do something special for you like run you a hot bath with candles and rose pettals after a hard days as the beatles said 'money cant buy me love so it transforms into rich people's event.
we should not wait for 14th february to express love if we love someone we can celebrate it everyday. multinationals companies also stimulate the people to celebrate this event because their motive is to increase their profits and they try to increase the sale of their products. the chocolate, perfumes, stufftoys and card manufacturers are basically the beneficars of this event.
This year on valentines day why not do something different and spend some money on a meaningful cause one of the many charities doing great work worldwide. The money can go to all sorts of good use and make a long term difference long after the standard valentines day flowers and chocolates are gone and forgotten and both you and your partner can feel good in knowing that you have helped the good cause of your choice.
